Job summary
We are looking for an expert practitioner to provide professional leadership, highly specialist advice and support related to tissue viability within the organisation.
You will work as part of team of clinical specialists nurses in wound care to lead and develop a strategic approach to the prevention, assessment and management of complex acute and chronic wounds.
We require someone who is confident in assessing wounds, providing care plans, advice and up to date knowledge on wound care products.
The post is for three days a week.
Main duties of the job
Accountable to take an autonomous specialist lead in developing, coordinating, evaluating and managing the Tissue Viability Service within the trust
Provide specialist education and training to staff including students, patients and carers. Innovate and improve current practice through the delivery of appropriate education and training to meet service needs.
Provide expert professional care advice to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
Continually evaluate current treatments to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience and cost improvement.
Oversee the wound care link nurses in the trust to ensure best practice, guidelines and policies are followed correctly.
Actively participate in patient reviews, ward rounds, case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings. Liaise with inter-hospital departments/personnel across the organisation and professional boundaries.
In partnership with medical devices and senior management, responsible for co-coordinating, advising, auditing and monitoring of beds and suitable mattresses across the trust.
