Job summary
We are currently looking for an outpatient dressing clinic coordinator to work in the Main outpatient Department. Ideally we would like someone who has experience in direct face to face contact with patients/clients for appointment scheduling purposes.
Reporting to the nurse in charge of the clinics that day and working closely with other members of the admin team in order to ensure the delivery of the service within NHS targets. The role will include receiving confidential and sensitive information, written, oral or verbal, to be exchanged with patients, relatives, staff or external parties.
Main duties of the job
Please see job description for full details of the role but it will essentially involve all aspects of booking appointments and amending appointments for both existing patients and new patient referrals. Ideally we would like someone with medical experience in a hospital or clinical environment who is able to work both within a busy team and on their own initiative when required. You will be computer literate and be able to manage a range of systems including clinic room allocation
They must be able to prioritise their own workload, possess excellent communication skills combined with a professional telephone manner, have a flexible and pro-active and positive attitude and remain calm under pressure.
