Job summary
The Trust is looking for an experienced, compassionate, highly motivated and ambitious individual as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Reporting to James Lowell, our new Chief Executive Officer and holding a voting Board position, this highly influential role requires the ability to manage a complex range of surgical and clinical specialities as well as develop effective internal and external relationships. You will have a proven track record of operational delivery, evidenced commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and ability to lead the transformation to deliver our new Trust strategy.
The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of operational leadership and achievement in complex organisations, as well as extensive experience in, and knowledge of, the health sector and partnership working.

Main duties of the job
To lead the Trust's operational delivery, ensuring high quality, cost effective services that are innovative and responsive to the needs of patients.
As a voting member of the board sharing responsibility for:
- Setting the Trust's strategic direction
- Achievement of the Trust's corporate objectives including compliance with CQC standards and the delivery of national targets and core standards
- Delivering high quality and safe care to patients
- Promoting a high performance culture
- Promoting and living the values of the Trust and fostering a culture which enables and motivates staff to deliver outstanding care to our patients and customers.
- Maintaining the financial strength of the Trust
- To uphold the Trust's values and be active in eliminating discrimination and at all times promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
