Job summary

We are a 5 bedded Critical Care Unit. We care for a variety of different specialities - reconstructive plastic surgery, reconstructive head & neck cancer surgery and maxillofacial trauma and major burn patients requiring HDU / ITU level of care.

Our Team is committed to delivering high quality, evidence-based care, which focuses on the individual needs of the patients and their relatives.

We are seeking a Deputy Matron to provide excellent, strong leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high quality patient care. You will be a key member of the management team, progressing patient care pathways, and managing critical care resources effectively whilst assisting in leading and developing the nursing team.

Main duties of the job

It is anticipated the successful candidate will be a clinically credible senior nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience at Band 6 which would include a successfully completed post registration course in Critical Care Nursing / equivalent and mentorship qualification. A first degree would be an advantage, as would a leadership qualification. You must have excellent leadership and communication skills and a drive and passion for delivering the best possible care to our patients.
