Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will provide Occupational Therapy interventions to patients, working as part of a specialty therapy team on a rotational basis.
Our diverse rotations include: Frailty wards, Older Persons wards, Surgical specialities, Orthopaedics - Trauma and Elective, Front Door - ED and assessment wards, and Cardio-respiratory wards.
As a Rotational Occupational Therapist you will maintain appropriate communication with the OT/Physio Team Leads supervising the rotation, participating in regular supervision of caseload and seeking advice when appropriate .
In addition, you will communicate effectively with patients and carers and other health care professionals using a wide range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to share assessment findings, agree treatment plans, progress rehabilitation, give advice, teaching etc. This will include patients with communication and comprehension difficulties and those who may be unable to accept diagnosis /prognosis.
