Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our busy Outpatients team. The role involves welcoming patients to the department and assisting the medical team with some clinical procedures.

The role will also require administrative and basic computer work on occasion. A willingness to learn new things is essential.

Supporting the Nurse in Charge

Teaching of any equipment used within the areas

  • NVQ 3 in Healthcare / QCF Diploma in Health Level 3/ equivalent experience or a willingness to undertake course/competences within a specified time frame
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of the requirements of patient confidentiality
  • Good hygiene skills (e.g. handwashing etc.) understanding of infection control procedures

Experience

  • Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting
  • Experience of working on own and in a team

Skills

  • Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
  • Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff
  • Ability to project a professional manner and approach
