We are looking for dedicated, qualified and experienced Nursery Practitioner's to join our friendly yet professional team. If you are passionate about providing exceptional care and motivated to deliver high quality teaching and learning to children in the early years then we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Tiny Tugs Medway NHS Foundation Trust Day Nursery cares for children aged 6 months to 5 years in a purpose-built day nursery setting located conveniently on the hospital site for Trust employees. An exciting opportunity to offer two qualified practitioners to join our well-established team of dedicated early years professionals who take a holistic approach to learning and place every child at the centre of what they do to achieve the best outcomes.

The successful post holder will contribute to delivering an ambitious curriculum of engaging play and learning activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our holistic approach for each individual child ensures they can develop in a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment.

The roles are permanent for 37.5 hours per week working on a flexible shift pattern basis.

Job Purpose:

To provide continuity of care for the groups of children within the day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop.

Key Responsibilities:

To work in collaboration with a team of like-minded individuals ensuring that each child is provided with a safe, secure, emotionally and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop

To plan and provide a wide range of fun, educational play activities for young children that covers all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and individual child development.

To be responsible for the children in your care, providing a consistently safe, secure and stimulating environment that fosters their well-being

Ensure children receive the highest standards of care and attention, where every individual is treated with dignity and respect.

Ensure that accidents/individual problems with children, staff or parents are brought to the managers attention

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the nursery, promoting personal hygiene standards through monitoring toilet procedures as well as maintaining cleanliness of the play areas, equipment and surrounding areas.

Assist in preparation and serving of meals and supervising meal times

Attending regular training sessions

Attending termly staff training and development days.

Nursery Practitioners must at all times respect the principle of confidentiality of information gained through their work.

To be a key person to a group of children and support them and their parents through their learning and developmental journey

To have a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and understanding of local policies and procedures for raising concerns.

  • Ofsted approved NVQ level 3 or eqivilent in early years education and post qualification experience in an early years setting

  • English & Maths Grade 3 or eqivilent
