This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist tertiary level Fetal Medicine Unit supporting management of fetal abnormalities and high-risk pregnancies. The expectation is that the clinical fellow will have independent competencies to perform advanced obstetric ultrasound scans in first, second and third trimester including independent certification in cervical length assessments, fetal Dopplers and fetal echocardiography to enable supporting management of high-risk pregnancy clinics. This is a 1 year clinical fellowship. The post-holder will primarily work at the Medway Fetal and Maternal Medicine Centre (MFMC) but may also be working within high risk obstetric Antenatal Clinics, Maternity Care Unit (MCU) and delivery suite.
The MFMC, MCU and ANC work in tandem and offer specialised protocol based care to women deemed to be at a high risk for fetal or maternal conditions. The candidate will be supported to learn and improve clinical skills relating to Fetal Medicine but also contribute to the development and undertaking of research studies. There are ample opportunities to participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and research projects.
