Working Pattern: 12hr Shifts, 24/7 Rotation
We are recruiting for a ED Flow Coordinatorwho shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best Peopleand has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
The aim of the Patient Flow Co-ordinator is to provide support to the Quality & Safety Lead (QSL) in dealing with general administrative tasks. The concept is designed to free up valuable nursing and medical time to avoid delays, keep within the breach time frames and improve the patient experience.
The Flow Co-ordinator will be expected to work as part of the team, under the direction of the QSL and daily Duty Manager, ensuring smooth flow of patients through the department and Emergency Floor.
Main duties of the job
To communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies when necessary.
To book transport for patients if required in the absence of the ED Admin Clerk.
To assist in the provision of a safe environment for the safety and welfare of patients and staff within trust policies.
To be customer aware at all times.
To recognise escalating workloads and potential situations where patients may breach and instigate appropriate action.
To ensure data quality awareness is promoted throughout the Department, including implementation of necessary procedures and guidelines.
