Main duties of the job
The overaching goal of this position is to provide a comprehensive, high quality and compassionate pharmaceutical service to patients at Medway Hospital. The post holder will promote the safe, cost effective and rational use of drug therapy to provide optimal patient care whilst participating in education and training and supervision of other staff, as appropriate.
This is a developmental positon, supporting enthusiastic and passionate pharmacists to develop and begin their hospital pharmacy career with us. The post holder will be part of a team of 11 band 6 rotational foundation clinical pharmacists that rotate through a number of different clinical areas, including medicine, surgery, fraily, cancer and aseptic services, outpatient pharmacy, women's and childrens. Exposure will also be given to other therapeutic and operational areas, such as homecare and dispensary. Each pharmacist will be allocated a line manager/ diploma tutor who will provide mentoring and support. Costs for the clinical pharmacy diploma are covered by the department.
