Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time NHS Consultant appointment at the Women's Care Group at Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent to support a busy Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department.
This post is for a substantive Consultant appointment to join the team of Urogynaecology in a busy department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The candidate is expected to have experience in having worked in Urogynaecology and have experience in contributing to the service delivery in benign gynaecology. The post will attract 10 programmed activities according to the new contract.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-led and delivered care in different aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post-holder will be expected to cover obstetrics and gynaecological emergencies as well as contribute to service provision in clinical pathways for both the specialities.
Experience, qualifications and competencies in management of benign gynaecological conditions, including skills in laparoscopic gynaecology would be desirable. Experience and training in undertaking rapid access clinics and coloposcopy, such as completion of ATSM modules and previous experience of undertaking such duties will be a desirable criteria. The post will attract 10 programmed activities according to the new contract.
A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the Clinical Director , within 3 months commencement of the date of appointment. This will be signed off by the Chief Medical Officer and will be effective from commencement of the appointment. The job plan will be reviewed annually following the Appraisal meeting and prospective agreement that sets out a consultants duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year.
