Lawrence ward is an 19 patient bedded ward. We care for patients who are acutely unwell post chemotherapy treatment or who have recently been diagnosed with cancer. We also give chemotherapy treatments to in-patients or elective patients.
As this is a specialist nursing role this will enable the nurse to learn a speciality that will lead to knowledge for a lot of different avenues within cancer and palliative care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will receive training in the safe administration of Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT) ( Chemotherapy) Both in house and accredited university qualification will be provided. Nurses that hold this qualification is at a national shortage thus many advantages such as increased bank pay.

Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge
