Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Women's & Children's Management Team. The role will also provide administrative and secretarial support and functions, as agreed and if required, within the Women's & Children's Management Team.

The post holder requires excellent organisational ability, must be flexible and able to work on their own initiative in resolving problems when they arise, along with a consistently high professional approach. They must be totally proficient in diary management and minute taking.

Essential

  • Good general education level or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, employment or voluntary work
  • RSA II or above or equivalent skills

Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of a wide range of administrative procedures gained through training and experience in administrative posts
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Microsoft; Excel, Word Power Point gained through training and experience

Experience

Essential

  • Organisational experience
  • In depth experience of working as a senior secretary or personal assistant for a manager/clinician operating at a senior level within an organisation
  • Experience of providing an effective customer service, including to customers who may be stressed, upset or angry
  • Experience of appropriately dealing with confidential and sensitive information

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to take and transcribe formal minutes
  • Ability to analyse complex information, issues or problems and to make sound judgements on the actions to be taken
