Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be expected to support the award winning Temporary Resourcing and Medical Rota Coordination Service with the supply of highly skilled and professional temporary workers through the effective administration of temporary staffing payroll, systems management, reporting information and accounting.

The role includes shift work across a seven day period. The successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Work as a member of the team responsible for ensuring that trusts temporary staffing requirements are met using either bank workers. Agency workers will be engaged workers as a last resource

Provide a responsive and high quality bank services within the KPIs

Maintain regular contact with temporary workers and wards / departments and utilising the BankStaff Management system to match availability with vacancies ensuring appropriate skill mix and competency requirements are met

Liaise with the Service teams and Clinical Leads to appropriate cover is maintained

Identify service gaps and plan/initiate acquisition of temporary workers in a timely fashion in order to meet service needs

Ensure bank workers meet our high standards, have appropriate skills and qualifications and up to-date with mandatory training

Ensure temporary worker bookings follows best practice and adheres to legislation

Work closely with the operational leads and the site team to ensure temporary staffing processes are adhered to

Ensure any agency workers booked meets NHS employment standards and are inline NHSI agency rules

Maintain standards of registered midwives, nurses, doctors, health care assistants and clerical staff registered on the bank, including ensuring current registration e.g. NMC, Care Certificate (HCAs), HCPC, GMC etc

Responsible for accurately recording attendance and non-attendance details of temporary workers

To send confirmation of all shifts to wards/ departments within given deadline(s)

Keep all wards/ departments up to date with the progress in filling their outstanding requests

Responsible for cold calling all temporary workers for their availability

Build strong relationships and deal with enquiries and provide information to potential temporary staff
