A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, creative and highly skilled Forensic or Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting children and young people in a secure setting.
You will join our fantastic multi-disciplinary team at our Lincolnshire Secure Children's Home, rated Outstanding by both CQC and Ofsted. The service sits within our Children's and Young Person's Complex Care Service Line, alongside the Harmful Behaviour Service and Complex Needs Service. Our Secure Children's home provides care for up to 12 young people aged 10-18.
Many of the young people we support have experienced significant adversity, including trauma, mental health challenges, neurodevelopmental difficulties and risk of harm to themselves or others.
You will work closely with our Highly Specialist Forensic Psychologist/Clinical Lead and a range of professionals to create a safe, containing environment and deliver interventions that help young people understand themselves, their mental health and their offending behaviour.
In this role you will have opportunities to lead on psychological formulations, deliver individual and group interventions, and contribute to staff training and development.

Main duties of the job
The role involves providing the psychology component of LPFT's multi disciplinary mental health assessment and intervention service for young people residing in the LSU.
It includes developing and delivering a range of psychological assessments and interventions, either independently or alongside CAMHS colleagues, as well as working collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, carers and families, and acting as a case coordinator when appropriate.
You will offer therapeutic interventions to young people who have experienced sexual abuse or who present with sexually concerning behaviours, and will carry out specialist developmental assessments--such as cognitive assessments and assessments for autistic spectrum disorder--to support understanding of learning or neurodevelopmental difficulties influencing a young person's presentation.
The role requires experience in at least two therapeutic approaches, alongside a willingness to train in dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing if not already accredited.
It also includes leading on psychological formulations, undertaking risk assessment and risk management for individual young people and offering guidance to other professionals on the psychological aspects of assessing and managing risk. This is a part-time post, and flexible working patterns can be considered within operational hours.
