Job summary
Are you an OT looking for a new challenge in an innovative, one-of-a-kind mental health service and to build on a very exciting quality improvement project looking to improve the transition from inpatient admission back into the community.
If so, we may have just the role you're looking for. Maple Lodge is a self contained 15 bedded, mixed gender, Mental Health Open rehabilitation unit, located in Boston. We are seeking to appoint a full time Occupational Therapist to replace the current post holder.
Alongside the main duties within the remit of ward Occupational Therapist, highlighted below.
You will have the opportunity to be part of the implementation of the new Model of Care and continued development of the community access transitional programme. Designed to support clear guidance around the increased role responsibility required as a person works towards discharge.

Main duties of the job
As a valued team member, you will work with service users, carers and the MDT to promotepatients' independence and improve their quality of life and well-being. Occupationalperformance and participation will be central to your practice, and you will be encouraged todevelop skills which support service users to achieve and maintain meaningful roles and routines.
We are looking for someone who: -
- Evidences a sound level of understanding of the effects of mental illness, alongside anempathetic approach to meet the individual needs of the patient.
- Is keen to demonstrate the distinctive contribution and added value the Occupational Therapist.
- Can offer the multi-disciplinary team.
- Has delivered groups and advice on lifestyle changes, or has a willingness to develop skills in this.area.
- Has a desire to be involved in patient co-production projects and empower those you work with.
- Evidences a dynamic, creative and positive approach
- Exhibits communication skills that shine through, and are essential for this post.
- Evidences an understanding of risk assessments and outcome measurement
