Join our dynamic team at The Vales, a 15-bed rehabilitation unit at Discovery House, which is undergoing an exciting transformation into a level 2 mental health unit. We are seeking an experienced inpatient ward manager who is dedicated to delivering relational and trauma-informed care.

Main duties of the job
Manage and hold 24-hour responsibility for the provision of clinical care and all aspects of operational management on a ward.
To co-ordinate and make effective use of staff, supervise staff and ensure training is maintained.
To ensure adequate staffing levels and provide clinical leadership for staff.
To ensure cost effective use of resources and the delivery of compassionate, safe and effective care to patients placed on the ward.

- Evidence of specialised continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice
Desirable
- Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership
- Masters Degree

- Substantial post qualification experience in an Inpatient ward setting.
- Post-Registration experience of working with adults with mental health needs.
- Experience of working with adults with complex needs (Neurodiversity, Eating Disorders/Disordered Eating, Learning Disability)
- Experience of managing staff and good leadership skills.
- Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health.
- Sound knowledge of clinical / risk assessment and understanding of confidentiality.
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
