Job summary
We are seeking to appoint two highly motivated experienced individuals who would relish the opportunity to practice in the CAMHS Learning Disability Team within LPFT at a Band 6 level.
This post is available to experienced professionals who hold a professional qualification in Learning Disability Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Children's Nursing, Social Work, Learning Disability Teaching, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop their skills across the children's mental health workforce to join an experienced and well-established Multi-Disciplinary Team within LPFT who provide services to children who have a moderate to severe Learning Disability.
The team are passionate about our children and young people services which provide specialist mental health assessment and interventions for children and young people with complex and enduring mental health problems, including those with a Learning Disability. The CAMHS Learning Disability Team provides a county wide service, which covers hubs based in Lincoln, Grantham, Boston and Louth. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can provide safe and effective mental health interventions to children living in Lincolnshire.
Main duties of the job
The CAMHS LD team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Highly Specialised Clinical Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses, Independent Prescriber, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist, an Assistant Practitioner and you will work alongside these professionals to complete holistic mental health assessments, observations and direct intervention work in both a home, school and respite setting, which includes offering advocacy and signposting to other services.
You will also support the transitions between services for children and young people who have a learning disability. The applicant may also get the opportunity to become involved in service development and research/audit opportunities.

- RNMH/ RNLD/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/ Speech and Language Therapist with current registration
- Or RN (child) /RSCN
- Evidence of specialised continued professional training in clinical practice
Desirable
- Management training
- Mentorship Module/practise educator module
- Post qualification courses in child care practice or therapeutic work with children and families or people with learning disabilities
Experience
Essential
- Post qualification experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities
- Post qualification experience in CAMHS or similar child focussed services that includes assessment, planning and intervention of mental health provision
- Experience of using evidence based practice
- Experience of working in partnership with patients/carers/other agencies or voluntary groups
- Experience of working with individuals in crisis
