We have an exciting opportunity in our Lincolnshire County wide CAMHS Eating disorder service for a full time (37.5 hour) Band 6 Eating Disorder Nurse.

We are a highly specialised team providing psychotherapy for young people up to the age of 18 suffering from Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, or Binge eating disorder.

As a service, working closely with Adult Eating Disorder services, we also provide the delivery of FREED (First Episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) see https://freedfromed.co.uk.

Our team offers early specialist assessment and intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people; up to the age of 18 alongside their family/ carers. These interventions include FBT, CBT-E and Guided self Help.

You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and gain experience in this specialist field and work alongside a knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated MDT, who are all active in research, education, and training. Our team is made up of Psychiatry, Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, FREED Specialist/ clinical Lead and Support workers.

You will receive regular supervision; and will be actively encouraged and supported in continual professional development. Specialist training, learning, and teaching opportunities are encouraged and supported in this position.

Main duties of the job

  • As a CAMH EDS Nurse you will work within a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to carry out thorough assessments of new referrals and have an active role in team discussions where the need for specialist treatment is decided.
  • You will hold and take responsibility for managing a clinical caseload of children and young people with complex needs. You will be provided with supervision in order to reflect upon your practice and further develop your skills.
  • You will evaluate the effectiveness of treatment offered and provide clinical data/outcome measures as required.
  • You will liaise with professionals from other services, offering support and guidance on how they can best manage the young persons needs.
  • In order to continually develop your knowledge and skills you will participate in a Professional Development Review, identifying your development needs and formulating a development plan with your line manager.
  • As students regularly attend this service, your role will involve the welcoming and supporting these students.
  • You will work alongside an experienced team to support the delivery training.
