Pilgrim Hospital in Boston is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner (Band 6 AFC) for Older Adult and Working Age Adult Specialisms. Suitably qualified, experienced (at least 2 years), and registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers are encouraged to apply. Hours of Work: Core 24 service over a 7 day period
The role involves conducting comprehensive Bio-Psychosocial Assessments in line with NICE Guidelines and Evidence Based Treatment Pathways for patients presenting to the acute hospital. The practitioner will contribute to a multidisciplinary team approach, ensuring the best possible outcome for patients. The role will provide operational support as part of the Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS), working in partnership with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The service aims to provide emergency and urgent mental health support to people in A&E and General Wards, as well as review and signpost those admitted with CAMHS and drug- and alcohol-related mental health needs. The practitioner will be provided with high-quality supervision, mentoring, and access to national conferences and training to support their development and skills in delivering high-quality care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of and appropriate liaison for a defined group of service users (16 +) admitted to Hospital. The post holder will provide assessment and professional advice as well as support to the Emergency Department and Wards, staff/teams and all other relevant agencies to ensure that any patients with mental health needs have a timely admission and are linked into appropriate LPFT teams/services upon their discharge if appropriate
