Job summary

Working alongside key stakeholder groups across the Trust, Integrated Care Systems, CRN EM and sponsor sites.

The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for leading the three key functions of the department:

1. Research Governance

Research Governance Lead for the Trust, including managing the Trust's Evaluation Registration process

2. Research Delivery

National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) delivery of studies and initiatives within the Trust and wider county

3. Research Development

Management of Research Development Forum (RDF) and support/signposting for professional development and Lincolnshire based grant applications

In addition, the post holder will be involved in developing and delivering a new Trust Research Strategy following the launch of New Trust Strategy and the ICB Research Strategy

Main duties of the job

To manage a portfolio of NIHR research studies and initiatives across the Trust, and other health and social care organisations where applicable, ensuring quality in the delivery of research.

To be Research Governance Lead and manage the research governance function, ensuring robust adherence to national policy and guidelines, and opening of studies to time and target requirements.

To ensure the set-up, opening and management of NIHR studies to time and target requirements and to UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research guidelines. This includes the signing off on contracts and finance.

To support the CRN Divisional and Specialty Clinical Leads, and Divisional Research Delivery Manager in delivering the divisional research agenda and specific projects within the Trust and other key partner organisations as required.

To manage the portfolio of work of the Trust to ensure that local and regional targets are met, including recruitment of patients into trials and other objectives set by the Trust and NIHR.

To work with the Medical Director and Deputy Medical Director to develop and host research opportunities for clinicians, academics, researchers, service users and carers. Including leading planning for the Annual Research Conference.

To be a member of the Integrated Care System (ICS) Research Leads Group, supporting system research work and development.

About us

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the principal provider of NHS mental health services, as well as providing some learning disability, autism, and social care services across the county. We were one of the first foundation trusts to be established in the country.The Trust has an annual income of approximately £120m with around 2,800 staff spread across the 40+ locations. The Trust cares for around 53,000 patients a year and has around 200 inpatient beds across the Trust.

The research department is NIHR funded to support successful facilitation of NIHR funded research studies and initiatives. We manage a wide and varied portfolio of studies in Lincolnshire, both within our own Trust clinical services and the wider health and social care environment including primary care and care homes. We collaborate with colleagues from a range of other organisations to drive research activity including academic institutions, NHS Trusts and research network staff. We cover a wide and largely rural geographic area.

The Trust funded Clinical Research Manager post leads Research Governance ensuring compliance to nationally recognised standards and management of each study throughout its life cycle.
