Job summary
You will provide assessment and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a range of Eating Disorder related problems for which CBT-E is demonstrated to be clinically effective within the Adult Eating Disorder Service whilst undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT.
During CBT-E training you will work across Steps2Change and the Adult Eating Disorder Service to pick up suitable cases across a wide range of mental health conditions. Once qualified you will specialise in eating disorders.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
Main duties of the job
- Work within a well-established team, however you will be required to deliver an autonomous service as part of your role, operating within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Trust's policies and procedures.
- Will be expected to provide a high standard of specialist clinical care, within a Community Eating Disorders Service, using effective assessments, evidence-based treatments via clinical pathways and comprehensive discharge planning.
- Deliver NICE recommended evidence based psychological interventions for eating disorders, provide robust risk assessment and management plans, taking appropriate therapeutic risk.
- Manage a caseload and service delivery in accordance with and in order to contribute towards the attainment of, the Service/Trust productivity requirements, including waiting times.
- We work closely with CAMHS Eating Disorders Service and you will be required to provide joint working and transitions from CAMHS eating disorder services as appropriate.
- You will provide the CBT/CBT-E clinical and caseload management supervision of staff within the Adult Eating Disorders Service. Provide line management supervision to CBT-E within (PCN's) Primary Care Networks.
- Provide teaching and training to qualified and non-qualified staff and evaluate the training offered.
- Participate in own CBT supervision with an appropriate and qualified supervisor.

- Contribute to discussion within supervision regarding CBT interventions adhering to the departments referral protocols, and signpost clients who require other services on to the relevant service as necessary.

- Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies.
