Specialist Services Division within LPFT includes Mental Health and Emotional wellbeing Services for Children and Young People, Veterans Services, Adult Eating Disorder Services, Services for Autistic Individuals and Individuals with a Learning Disability and Community Criminal Justice and Forensic Services.
Due to the promotion of the existing post holder within the Trust, we are recruiting to the role of Service Development Lead on a substantive basis.
Main duties of the job
Amongst its broader senior management responsibilities the post holder will be the key portfolio lead responsible for service developments delivery within the Specialist Services Division of LPFT; supporting senior managers and engaging stakeholders including staff and service users to implement an innovative and seamless service for all recipients of Divisional care delivery.
You will work at a senior level both within the Trust and Divisional Senior Management Team(s) and with system leaders across health and social care to identify and develop strategic interfaces and service development opportunities; and support and lead divisional service development and project management.

Job responsibilities
- Lead on Specialist Services developments (full Divisional portfolio) and working closely with the organisations clinical and operations managers to create an integrated approach to service transformation and business development.
- Deputise for the Specialist Services Associate Director of Operations (AD) in the absence of the AD and at core meetings relating to strategy, development and performance as delegated.
- Ensure all elements of implementation of service developments are undertaken and delivered to ensure high standards of clinical care.
- Work with relevant stakeholders both internal and external to the division, including corporate departments to ensure reporting, finance, contracting, workforce, and engagement plans are fully implemented.
- Lead on specific operational development projects and organisational change initiatives within the Specialist Services Division to support the delivery of identified objectives; engaging and working with Clinical and Corporate Directorates to ensure effective and timely implementation, including project planning, identifying resource implications, potential benefits and achievement of relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Work to the Specialist Services AD and Clinical Director (CD) and with the Quality and Assurance Lead (QUAL), Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Service Managers (SMs) to implement change within their respective areas.
- To work with system partners to implement divisionally aligned. and/or Trust led developments across the system.
- Develop a robust evaluation methodology to ensure that all Operational Development interventions are delivering the Specialist Services Divisional business objectives.
- To ensure appropriate, timely and accurate reporting to commissioners on objectives relating to the business of the division.
- To contribute to financial planning processes as part of the Trusts annual planning and lead on Divisional CIP identification and development arrangements.
- To work with Senior Management Team (SMT) and HRBP to ensure a competent workforce through identification of skills and development needs to deliver services safely and effectively.
- To Identify and develop strategic opportunities for divisional development in terms of business and development opportunities for growth.
- Contribute to the development of fully integrated patient care pathways in Specialist Services, ensuring clinical systems capture and focus on personalised services.
- Produce progress reports for Board, commissioners and other stakeholders as required.
- The post holder will provide expert advice on all aspects of Specialist Services estates projects with varying complexities which affect the Divisions ability to achieve its priorities as described in the Estate Strategy and Capital Development Programme.
- The post holder will also be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on Health and Safety, technical and complex building management issues, identifying solutions to ensure changes are fit for purpose, overcoming any barriers or contentious issues that may arise due to conflicting priorities.
