Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (LPFT) is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies site (IAPT). An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Interpersonal Therapy Practitioner within the Lincolnshire Talking Therapies Service based at Holly Lodge in Skegness. The Service provides evidence based interventions within a stepped care model, for the treatment of people with mild to moderate common mental health problems. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative, which has fundamentally changed the way in which psychological treatments are provided.
We are looking for motivated individuals with demonstrable knowledge of mental health and IAPT service delivery. In addition an understanding of the role of IPT and the key skills required for this role are essential.

Main duties of the job
The Qualified/Trainee Interpersonal Therapy Practitioner will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver IPT Step 3 treatment interventions to people experiencing depression whilst undertaking the IPT training qualification, as required. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by qualified supervisors. The service has a strong commitment towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD), staff wellbeing and providing quality services.

Job responsibilities
To complete IPT training, continuing employment will be dependent on this.
To complete training cases for IPT training
Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients, under supervision
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Attend meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Undertake psychological assessments of patients referred to the service. Assessments will include identification of the patients problem, comprehensive risk assessment and identification of goals for therapy.
To attend CPD and mandatory training provided by the Trust.
To attend clinical supervision.
Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g. BPS, UKCP ), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. IAPT, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.
Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of IPT.
Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.
Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager.
Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.
Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures.
