Location:Ellis Ward Peter Hodgkinson Centre, Lincoln and Hartsholme Centre, Longleys Road, Lincoln.
A fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Staff Nurse who is looking to widen their experience and knowledge in mental health care by working across two different Inpatient Wards. This unique opportunity will allow you to work with two teams of professionals, enabling you to learn from and gain valuable experience from different perspectives.
You will join our team at our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit which is a 10-bed male-only unit and also work at our brand new state of the art Peter Hodgkinson Centre on the Ellis Ward which is our 19 bedded male-only acute ward. Both wards cater for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
As a Mental Health Staff Nurse you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients, with the Trust values at the core of your patient care approach. You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and empathetic, particularly during the acute stage of a mental health episode. Excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, and a commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential.
This post offers an additional £1500 Environment Allowance per annum.
You may be required to work unsociable hours, nights, weekends, public holidays, and shift patterns but we can discuss this with you to make sure it fits around your commitments.
Main duties of the job
To be part of an integrated health/social care team providing inpatient care for service users suffering from serious and enduring mental illness. Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting mental health wellbeing, self-autonomy and independence.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, in liaison with the care team in the capacity of a mental health nurse.
