JOB TITLE: Band 6 CBT Trainee

DEPARTMENT: Adult Community Mental Health Team

LOCATION/BASE ADDRESS: Spalding, Sleaford, Gainsborough, Lincoln South (Various Posts Available)

BAND AND SALARY: Band 6 (Rising to Band 7 on successful completion of professional training)

NUMBER OF HOURS: 0.8wte (30hrs per week)

TEMP/PERM (END DATE IF FIXED TERM): Permanent contract

If you are enthusiastic about a career in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in secondary mental health care this could be the ideal opportunity for you. We are looking for motivated and committed candidates wishing to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT at The University of Derby whilst working in Community Mental Health Teams in our Trust. Training will mostly be delivered one day per week, 50/50 split remote and face-to-face teaching.

There are 4 posts available in the following locations: Gainsborough CMHT, Lincoln South CMHT, Sleaford CMHT, and Spalding CMHT.

You will need to hold a Professional qualification such as Nurse (RMN), Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychological Therapist (meeting the requirements of a core profession as stated by the BABCP) or be willing to undertake KSA entry route if you don't currently hold a core profession KSA Guidelines (babcp.com).

Main duties of the job

The Community Mental Health Teams are located within the Adult Community Mental Health Division and our mission is to provide high quality psychological services to adults who live in Lincolnshire and are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The post will involve liaison with other professions within the mental health service, including Mental Health Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, Assistant and Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Support Workers and Peer Support Workers.

The post holders will provide assessment and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a range of mental health related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective within the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), whilst undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Derby.

Regular management and clinical supervision will be provided by qualified supervisors. The service has a strong commitment towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD), staff wellbeing and providing quality services.
