Job summary

We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a motivated Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner to join an established and progressive Community multi-disciplinary team Learning disability team, covering the South of Lincolnshire, including the areas of Spalding, Sleaford and Grantham. This post provides the opportunity for someone with post qualification experience, who has an interest in working with adults with learning disabilities and complex challenging needs.

The Positive Behaviour Support Teamwork as part of a delivering a high quality and specialist services to individuals with Learning Disabilities, where you will receive regular clinical supervision from the experienced PBS Clinical Lead, and in addition to this you will have access to attend regular formulation meetings, for complex cases you will have access to Clinical Psychology. There will be opportunities to actively contribute to service developments, future planning and improvement within the Learning Disability services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the provision of Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner for adults with Learning Disabilities across 3 core pathways: mental health, positive behaviour support and physical health pathway. The role includes clinical assessment, care planning and appropriate clinical decision-making skills. Being a compassionate, organised, team player with excellent communication skills and effective time management skills are key, as well as being accountable for the PBS caseload management and being able to identify interventions which you will joint work with staff within the team to deliver. Enthusiasm and motivation are just as important as your experience for this role, as full training can be provided for a successful applicant with the relevant qualifications

  • 1 st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent, in nursing, OT, social work or other relevant clinical profession.
  • Currently Registered with the appropriate professional body (eg NMC, HCPC or Social Work England)
  • Evidence of specialised continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.

Desirable

  • Management training
  • Leadership Training
  • Training in PBS approaches

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience of working with adults with a Learning Disability.
