Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Data and Reporting Manager

The closing date is 19 October 2025

Job summary

Please note we may close this advert early if we receive an exceptionally high volume of applications.

We are seeking an experienced data analyst with an excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics to join our team delivering transformation at pace across Moorfields. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience, exceptional communication skills, and the passion and drive to work autonomously under pressure to many different stakeholders.

The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting major change programmes, including preparation for Moorfields' new electronic patient record (EPR) and the relocation to our brand-new hospital site in 2027 (Project Oriel).

Main duties of the job

You will be an advanced user of T-SQL and Excel, ideally also with advanced knowledge of R or Python, and demonstrable experience in building and applying complex models to solve real-world problems. Experience working in the NHS is not essential, but you must be able to show how you have used quantitative analysis to inform decision making in similar complex high-risk settings.

You should be equally comfortable immersing yourself in code as you are explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences as you will be working with project managers and service leads to design, test, and present multiple hypothetical scenarios to meet different service needs. You will need to clearly articulate the assumptions, risks, and benefits of each option, enabling stakeholders to make informed choices that optimise patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute bespoke analysis and modelling expertise to one of the most ambitious transformation portfolios in the NHS, providing insight and guidance to support service redesign at scale and pace.

Our office is based at Old Street, London and we offer flexible hybrid working, expected 1-2 days a week on site. You will also have access to training and development opportunities, including SQL coding, data analysis, project management and improvement methodologies.
