Job summary

The EPR Classroom Training Lead will lead on the design, development and delivery of the classroom training element of the training project.The EPR Classroom Training Lead will work closely with the EPR Instructional Design Lead and the EPR Training and Engagement Lead in the delivery of the complete training project.The EPR Classroom Training Lead will liaise with our EPR providers, Meditech, and the provider who support us with our existing medical noting software, OpenEyes.

Main duties of the job

The EPR Training Team will provide high quality education, training and development to a wide variety of end users across the Trust. This includes supporting the rollout of the Electronic Patient Record to support patient care and preparation for the ongoing delivery of sustainable training. The post holder will play a key role in the planning and delivery of training and will work closely with healthcare staff and other key stakeholders to deliver future training requirements for staffThe post holder will be responsible for leading the classroom training element of the EPR training workstream for staff across Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH), including design, delivery and evaluation.

Job responsibilities

Liaising with the Business Change analysts and RBAC team to lead the design of role-based lesson plans across all areas of MEH, including medical, clinical and administrative; registering patients and referrals, outpatients, day stay and inpatient wards, A&E, theatres, order comms, ePMA Delivering Train the Trainer, alongside the Training & Engagement Lead, to additional team members Work closely with the Instructional Design Lead to determine the content of the e-learning modules Create e-learning modules under the guidance of the Instructional Design Lead Lead on the creation of user support documentation, for example user guides, quick reference guides, etc, including quality controlling the work of team members Working with the Training & Engagement Lead to design the classroom training delivery program Design competency assessments for classroom training and criteria for classroom trainers to assess during sessions Liaise with stakeholders for advice on and approval of training content Work alongside the LMS Lead and the Training & Engagement Lead to ensure classroom training is recorded accurately on the LMS Work alongside the Training & Engagement Lead to develop and maintain the training environment to enable smooth end user training delivery Lead sessions with trainers, advising on best practice for classroom training delivery Monitor any updates in the program and amend lesson plans and support documents as required Design a strategy for Business as Usual training. Plan and prepare lesson plans and support documents for post go-live training and handover to the Business As Usual team Attend events around the Trust to promote the EPR Deliver classroom training to super users, floorwalkers and end users. This will take place at several locations around the Trust network. The postholder will be expected to travel to locations across the Trust as required. Peer review of trainers during end user training delivery Deliver pre go live support utilising classroom, Teams and deskside methods Provide post go live support in the form of floorwalking, deskside training, telephone and Teams support (list is not exhaustive) Assist other program workstreams, as required To promote alternative cost effective and time saving methods of education and training Understand the EPR users and their objectives, and how education, training and development can help achieve these objectives Understand relevant developments within the NHS environment and beyond and propose changes to local working practices where appropriate Contribute to the effectiveness of learning within the health community Deputise for the Training & Engagement Lead when required, including chairing meetings and running reports of training statistics Be a signatory for small purchases and signing timesheets and maintain accurate records Maintain professional conduct, including appearance, at all times Ensure the Trusts values are embedded throughout the project Comply with all Trust policies, procedures, and protocols
