Main duties of the job
Safely enter the operating theatre post-surgery to retrieve used sterileequipment, instruments, and supplies.
Ensure adherence to all infection control and sterile procedures whileentering and exiting the operating theatre.
Handle used equipment with care to avoid contamination or damage.
Transport equipment to the designated cleaning and sterilization areausing appropriate procedures and equipment.

Handle surgical instruments with precision to prevent damage andmaintain their integrity.
Properly label, record, and document all retrieved equipment to maintainaccurate records for inventory control and tracking purposes.
Transport the used equipment to the decontamination area orsterilization unit following established protocols.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, including the useof personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand hygiene.
Report any breaches of infection control procedures or potentialcontamination immediately to the supervisor.
