Job summary
The NIHR Moorfields CRF are looking to recruit a Ophthalmic Research Technician to join their team.
Your duties include performing a wide range of procedures ( SD_OCT, VF, Microperimetry, etc) for the Studies currently conducted in the CRF.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient specialised support service for all patients attending the NIHR Moorfields CRF as part of its research programmes. To provide technical support for clinical trials and research studies within the CRF.
To carry out imaging services for the Research and Development Department including optical coherence tomography, optic nerve and retinal nerve fibre layer imaging and psychophysical testing.
To work with and cover the work load of other ophthalmic research personnel when required.
To acquire and maintain certifications with external reading centres for the studies that you work on.
To be proficient in the use of appropriate software used for obtaining and reproducing ocular images and visual field testing, and have a thorough understanding of results and interpretation. Ensure all specialised technical equipment is maintained, calibrated and records are kept, as well as building links with equipment manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring that retinal imaging equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.
