Job summary

Moorfields Research and Development requires a Equality Diversity Inclusion (EDI) Research Associate to join the Study Delivery Team.

The EDI Research Associate will act as the custodian of the EDI Strategy specific Research and Development. Working alongside the Trust EDI Lead, this is a key role in Moorfields R&D that will support actively identifying and removing barriers to skills development, building diverse capacity, ensuring that access to all opportunities is equitable and facilitating a culture that values fairness and transparency within research.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.

During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed. The probationary period may be extended or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy. For the duration of the probation period, the notice period will be in line with contractual obligations on either side.

Main duties of the job

This new role will be varied, stimulating and offer the successful candidate an opportunity to work across a wide variety of research activity and projects.

We're looking for an experienced and versatile individual who can quickly establish themselves with individuals from multiple teams including senior leaders.

You'll be required to undertake a wide variety of design and facilitation activity- a typical week activity, and facilitating activity to progress our EDI programmes focusing on populations which R+D are potentially underserving, including larger group 'Listening Events'.

A desire and ability to work across an ambitious and exciting research portfolio is an essential requirement for this role. You'll need a good working knowledge of current issues, be familiar with emerging and best-practice approaches, and have demonstrable practitioner experience, in this field. Most importantly, you'll have the ability to facilitate open and honest conversations about issues that can be emotive and challenging, with staff at all levels.
