We have Full-Time band 7 ( Sister/Charge Nurse) opportunity available in our New Stratford Moorfields site.

Our exciting Outpatients band 7 ophthalmology opportunities is for an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced ophthalmic nurse to lead the service and nursing team in the Outpatient and Daycare service in our new Stratford hub (Granta House, 15-19 Broadway, Stratford, London, E15 4BQ). situated on Stratford High Street, close to rail, tube, and bus stations as well as Westfield and a wide range of local shops and cafes in the area.

The post holder will work in partnership with other band 7's and closely with Matron plus the wider multi-disciplinary team within the North East Hub and will actively participate in the developing role of the ophthalmic nurse within the inpatient service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to confidently manage and provide strong clinical leadership, training, and education to all staff. Ensuring staff involvement in the development of the service, while taking into account the nursing standards of the department.

You must possess good management and leadership skills with current ophthalmic nursing experience and a good knowledge of various ophthalmic procedures and equipment in order to undertake this challenging role.

You will be working clinically providing clinical expertise to facilitate the safe and effective delivery of care and maintain your own clinical practice.

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to bringing the highest level of nursing care to patients in line with the Quality Agenda and Moorfields strategy. As part of the transition phase, the successful candidate will work across the site to ensure that they master the skills to support MR. glaucoma, cataract, and general ophthalmology service.

The successful candidate will have the support of the Matron and the Senior Management Team of the unit, including training to upgrade and develop managerial and clinical skills.

The successful candidate will be innovated in building a strong team with the right skills to advance the service at Stratford.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
