Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motived, forward thinking nurse to join our rheumatology nursing team.
You will be part of the small team within the rheumatology day unit, providing a high standard of care to our rheumatology patients.
Rheumatology day unit is a small unit with 7 treatments chairs but we can treat up to 20 patients a day.
Main duties of the job
Being competent and up to date in clinical skills, IV drugs, Venepuncture and cannulisation is essential to this role.
You will be providing a safe environment for our patients to receive their IV immuno-therapy/biologic drug treatments and osteoporosis treatments, for patients with rheumatology conditions and Osteoporosis, as well on going continuity of care and education for the rheumatology patients.
Many of the patients return on a regular basis, so we do build up a special relationship with these patients.
We have a very friendly supportive environment, with a commitment to continuing professional development.
You need to be flexible in your approach to work, with excellent communication skills as essential.
You will work closely with the rheumatology specialist nurses and the MDT team.
Although some rheumatology knowledge would be desirable, we are able to offer a comprehensive training and education program where needed.
We are at the forefront in rheumatology research, with rheumatology services evolving to incorporate advances in treatment and management of rheumatology patient care.
