Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the Specialist Surgery Team within the Division of Surgery and Cancer (Breast and Vascular Service).
The successful candidate will provide a vital and dynamic team leader role primarily in the Breast and Vascular Service but will assist when required the Urology Service. You will manage and develop a responsive administration service having responsibility for the day to day management of the admin teams, including annual appraisals, annual leave, sickness management and adherence to Trust HR policies and procedures.
There will also be a requirement on occasion to work at Bassetlaw Hospital.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the challenges of a busy working and constantly changing environment, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and to achieve strict deadlines. You will be a highly motivated individual, with the ability to motivate and influence others, suggest and implement ideas to improve team performance and efficiency and will have excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
Effective and timely management of referrals, appointments and monitoring capacity and demand, using clinic utilisation reports to ensure efficient use of clinical capacity, having close liaison with the PAS team
Working with clinical and admin teams to ensure theatre lists are fully utilised
To provide support to clinical/admin teams to facilitate active tracking and tracing of the patient tracker list (PTL) ensuring all actions are undertaken, escalating to the Service Manager any potential breaches or blockages.
Promoting data quality processes and a right first time approach
Responsible for day to day line management of clinical administration staff to include but not limited to: approving timesheets, recruitment and selection, to ensure working environments comply with health & safety legislation, staff inductions, annual leave and general day to day staff management as needed.
To motivate colleagues and champion service improvement for the division.
