The post is primarily Monday to Friday within core hours (8am-6pm) to support strong leadership presence and team engagement. Flexibility may be required, and working patterns may be reviewed in line with specialty service needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of both fundamental and complex nursing and midwifery care, alongside health promotion activity.

As the clinical leader and expert practitioner, the post holder will provide professional leadership, guidance, and advice to the multidisciplinary team and relevant external agencies to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and optimal patient care.

The role includes acting as a positive role model, promoting professional standards of practice, supporting staff development, and fostering a culture of appraisal, learning, and continuous improvement through clear objective setting aligned to individual, service, and organisational needs.

The post holder will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a dynamic learning environment, overseeing education, research, and practice development across their clinical area and the wider Division.
