We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our established nursing team with a commitment to delivering high quality individualised patient centred care. We are looking for nurse with a range of experience in surgery to join our day surgery team as a Band 6 ward Sister/Charge nurse.

Rockingham ward is an elective day surgery unit based at Montagu Hospital Mexborough. We provide a variety of surgical procedures and care to our elective surgical patients from admission to discharge.AS such, it offers excellent opportunities to expand your experience within a day surgery setting and provides experience in treating a wide range of surgical conditions such as Orthopaedic, Vascular ,Ophthalmic oral and Max fax ,Gynaecology, Urology, Podiatric and General Surgery.

Rockingham ward provides a high standard of clinical care to our patients five days per week. As the unit develops this service may expand to six days per week .Rockingham ward will equip nurses with skills in high quality essential nursing care and in managing and prioritising workload to ensure the safe, effective nurse led discharge of our patients following their elective procedure.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate the activities of the ward/department team to ensure the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised holistic patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. The Sister will be required to manage the ward/department in the absence of the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse.
