Care Support Worker - Transfer Team

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Patient Transfer Team at DRI. The role requires a dynamic and proactive individual who can work to support the effective flow of patients through the organisation.

We will teach you everything you need to know and all we ask is that you are a caring and kind person with a genuine desire to help and support our patients by providing exceptional care. Our Care Support Workers provide some of the most personal and fundamental support to our patients so if you feel the above is you then we want to hear from you.

The post holder will provide assistance to qualified staff by the effective, prompt and competent undertaking of delegated duties. To work as part of a team, as directed by the team leader.

Main duties of the job

The candidate must have excellent coordination and communication skills to ensure the timely transfer of patients across the organisation . You will be expected to work transferring patients to all areas to meet demand ensuring that patient safety and quality care support the patient's journey. This also includes providing basic personal care.

It's really important to consider that some aspects of healthcare work can be distressing and unpleasant. You will be expected to help patients with personal care without being embarrassed or feeling awkward. You will need to be able to communicate sympathetically with patients, and distressed relatives, and care for patients who are very sick.
