Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to gain experience within the Inpatient Pain Team. This secondment is to cover maternity leave and will provide the individual with lasting knowledge and valuable experience in managing complex pain issues, supporting the wards and specialist services, and also playing a pivotal role in staff education to ensure our patients receive high quality care and patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have a proven interest in pain management, work well within a small team and strive to ensure patient safety and patient experience is at the forefront of our practice.
The role is demanding so we are looking for someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic, highly skilled, confident and able to work independently, and who is focussed on pain management, multi focal pain management techniques, patient safety and constantly improving standards of care.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience within an acute setting as well as up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge and skills. A teaching certificate is also essential.
You will provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised holistic care to patients requiring specialised pain management.
You will be accountable for a caseload of patients, providing support, advice and recommendations to a patient's analgesic plan in accordance to national and local guidelines.
You will support ward staff in managing patient's complex pain needs and management expectations in a positive and supportive manner.
You will support and provide effective service management to the Band 7 Lead Nurse and in their absence.
