We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our well established teams with a commitment to delivering high quality individualised patient centred care.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing the highest standard of individualised holistic patient care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

What we are looking for:

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant

Completion of the Care Certificate (or willing to complete within 3 months of starting)

Relevant healthcare qualification

Clinical skills and competencies specific to the department (if you lack these then you'll start as a Band 2 Trainee HCA, with progression to a Band 3 HCA upon completion of training).

We have full time and part time roles available, and also support flexible working where possible.There is a variety of shift patterns, including a 24 hour, 7 day a week shift pattern (rotational shifts, with enhanced pay for weekends and nights).

  • Level 2 intermediate Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Care Certificate (or willing to complete in first 3 months)
  • Certified competence to undertake vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, urinalysis and screening swabs training. (willing to complete in first 3 months)

Desirable

  • GCSE Maths & English or equivalent.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of working in a care setting providing personal care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues.

  • Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
