Acute Senior Occupational Therapist

Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an OT to join our well established acute services Occupational therapy team at DRI. This post will enable the team to continue to develop and provide an integrated therapy service at DRI. The team covers acute medicine, general and vascular surgery and the post holder will be an opportunity to rotate between the specialities.

As part of the continued development of the service the post holder will be key to contributing to and leading the integration of the therapy team across the acute services. The Team plays a vital role in providing quality of care for our patients whilst delivering the Trust goals of reducing length of stay, maintaining patient flow and facilitating safe and effective discharge across acute inpatient services.

The ability to work flexibly across sites andover 7 days is essential.

The successful candidate will hold the appropriate occupational therapy qualifications, have HCPC registration, appropriate experience of working within the speciality of acute medicine and be able to meet the requirements of the post outlined in the Job Description and Person Specification.

Main duties of the job

To undertake assessment and treatment of patients within speciality area.

To take a lead role in the discharge planning process and facilitation of the 7 day acute pathway.

To provide day to day management of occupational therapy service to specialist area.

To represent occupational therapy and contribute to the development of the wider occupational therapy service throughout the Trust
