Clinical lead Physiotherapist (37.5 hrs PW) - Cancer Prehabilitation / Rehabilitation - 8 month fixed term post *.
Funded by Yorkshire cancer Research (YCR), this unique post is an amazing opportunity to work as part of a regional cancer prehabilitation service, Active Together.
Prehabilitation is a programme of support and advice focusing on Diet, Physical activity and mental wellbeing to prepare for vital cancer treatments, enabling enhanced recovery with fewer complications and better long term health outcomes.
Although funding is currently limited for 8 months it is highly likely that it will be extended to 2028 following approval from YCR.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in community settings and will be involved in partnership working with community colleagues and leisure providers in Bassetlaw and Doncaster.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Physiotherapist with established leadership credentials and a passion for rehabilitation and personalised care.
The successful applicant will work closely with the current clinical lead OT and dietitian in prehabilitation and support the development of this important service.
Main duties of the job
To be an advanced practitioner within the fields of Prehabilitation and/or Rehabilitation
To support the development of the Prehabilitation and rehabilitation service for cancer patients across Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
Contribute to evaluation of this pilot intervention to create a long term, sustainable and regional cancer prehabilitation / rehabilitation service
To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs of patients.
To act as a point of contact for other agencies for issues relating to therapeutic intervention.
To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.
To ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available within the team.
To work with other members of the team in the development of the service.
To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the specialty area.
To represent the Therapy Team and contribute to the development of the wider Therapy service throughout the Trust.
