Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic and friendly inpatient Acute Occupational therapy team as a Therapy Assistant based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Joining the Trust as a Therapy Assistant is a great way to begin your career in the NHS. It offers valuable experience and various apprenticeship routes are available to develop through to careers in our therapy professions. Our Therapy assistant staff are highly valued members of our team who help us to provide quality care for our patients.

Weare a Teaching hospital committed to the development of all staff. You will receive training and support to develop your professional, personal and clinical skills through clinical supervision, training and development reviews.

You will be required to work alongside qualified Therapists but also work independently managing your own patient caseload. You must have great communication and time management skills. Computer skills are essential as you will be accessing patient details. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand the patients' needs and motivate them throughout their journey is an essential part of this role.

In this role you will be joining our established Acute inpatient Therapy Team in order to provide a seamless therapy service for our patients.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan and provide Therapy intervention for patients in an acute medicine and surgery in-patient setting.To work within agreed guidelines, protocols/competenciesTo assist in the delivery and organisation of Therapy services within the specialty.To undertake specific clinical responsibilities or quality improvement projects supporting the overall delivery of therapy servicesTo work independently with some patients being the first contact from the Occupational Therapy Team
