The successful candidate will contribute to emergency care across the Emergency Care Group and will work as a part of the Emergency Department team with a full shift rota.
Please note this position is based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary however includes cross site working meaning the successful candidate could be expected to pick up shifts at our Bassetlaw Site.
There is an expectation to contribute to the middle tier rota at either DRI or Bassetlaw Hospital. Post holder to be able to lead the team overnight so requires strong experience in a busy ED and leadership skills. There is consultant presence in both units 7 days of the week, with 12-18-hour on-site cover and then on-call cover.
Main duties of the job
Managing a whole spectrum of emergency patients
Assistance and supervision of the F1, F2 and GP VTS doctors with the management of patients.
Strengthening the delivery of a, high quality, General and Emergency Medicine service across the hospital and community.
Developing further links between Emergency medicine and medicine
Developing innovative practices in clinical patient management, focusing on high quality care.
Developing a subspecialty interest.
Teaching and training undergraduates as well as postgraduates
Quality assurance of the service and individual practice
