Band 7 AHP Clinical Lead (SQuIRes Project)-1 year fixed term post
This jobs advert is open to DBTH and RDASH staff only.
Funded by the ICB, this joint DBTH and RDASH post is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate to make a difference to the stroke survivors in Doncaster receiving community rehabilitation.
This 1 year pilot project will involve working as part of the Doncaster community stroke team with a view to improving integration and seamless care across the stroke pathway. The delivery of quality and responsive rehabilitation with be a key success indicator
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to band 4 Therapy assistants recruited as part of this project supporting an autonomous and flexible workforce. A passion for the development of others is a must.
There is flexibility to work across different clinical settings and implement and evaluate different approaches and interventions including group work, telerehabilitation etc.
We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and motivated professional with established MDT leadership credentials and a passion to create a positive change for Doncaster Stroke survivors.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have experience implementing quality improvement initiatives as well as collecting and presenting data. The outcomes from this project will help inform future workforce plans and contribute to a longer term business case for the Doncaster Stroke pathway.
We would consider part time, flexible working arrangements and job sharing for the right candidate/s.
Job Purpose
- To be an advanced practitioner within the fields of community Stroke rehabilitation.
- To support this 1 year pilot to look at new and innovative approaches to the delivery of community stroke rehabilitation.
- To be based in the community BUT work across the stroke pathway providing seamless, integrated and patient focused care and rehabilitation.
- To improve patient care in terms of treatment intensity and accessibility
- To provide clinical support and guidance to new Band 4 workforce
- Contribute to evaluation of the SQuIRes pilot project to inform future business cases for recurring funding as part of the vision for an integrated and seamless stroke pathway in Doncaster
- The prime function of the role is to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of therapeutic care for patients within the field of community stroke rehabilitation

- Broad base of clinical experience within Acute and Rehabilitation settings
- Evidence of experience in managing and supervising a caseload for an Physiotherapy Team and / or other MDT members
- Demonstrates specialist expertise in stroke and neurology underpinned by theory
- Experience of change management experience and leading on service development
- Experience of research and/or audit
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to provide relevant advice to wider MDT on a variety of management and clinical issues effectively
- Evidence of mentoring, coaching and / or providing clinical supervision to MDT members
