An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Systems Manager to join us to head up and lead our Systems Management Team, who collectively support and maintain the use and integration of several different clinical and business critical computer systems serving the needs of the Trust.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Operations & Cyber Security, the post holder will lead and manage a specialist team of systems support professionals committed to high quality service delivery and continuous improvement of a customer focused patient systems management service, and responsive to the changing needs of the Trust and its aspirations to introduce a full electronic health record.
The successful candidate will be a team worker with top notch leadership qualities, and communications and interpersonal skills. They will also have management experience spanning multiple systems implementation and upgrade projects, and a strong ability to interact and work with business, end-user and supplier representatives, and IT technical professionals & project management colleagues.
You will normally be expected to work shifts 8am-6pm, but occasional out of hours work may be needed to support system implementations, upgrades, and support of major incidents.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for a team managing a number of electronic patient record systems, including NerveCentre, ICE, Synapse, Zillion, SystmOne, CaMIS, Intouch, iFIT, Symphony, Medisec, & a number of other applications & bespoke systems.
As such we expect the post-holder to provide expert specialist knowledge across a wide range of system types, enabling successful systems & platform implementation, administration, training, & further development or enhancement of systems.
You will manage and lead a specialist team of skilled systems professionals responsible for several critical computer systems and the delivery of a high-quality support service to the Trust.
Support the Digital Strategy ensuring that implementation and support activities are identified, resourced, and managed effectively.
Provide specialist expert knowledge to facilitate and enable successful systems requirements design, procurement, implementation, administration and ongoing upgrade and enhancement of supported systems.
Work with system managers & project managers to plan, develop & implement work programmes for systems implementations and upgrades.
Provide specialist advice on systems planning, specification, requirements, functionality, implementation, configuration, governance, and compliance across the Trust.
