Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and lead Ward S12 (ENT & Ophthalmology) within Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary . Leading delivery of high quality responsive services and co- delivery of the National ENT masterclass nursing programme founded at DBTH.

The Surgical Division will be recruiting a highly motivated and innovative experienced senior surgical nurse with proven experience of leading / managing within a surgical inpatient area, day surgery or HDU / DCC area.

The successful candidate will join the current senior team to progress development of the service, and recent experience of working within the surgical speciality pathways in a Band 6 or Band 7 position is required.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to improving patient outcomes. The ward has a record of delivering high standards of care across a diverse range of surgical specialities with high patient satisfaction and effective MDT working.

A proven ability to work in collaboration with a range of clinicians / managers across differing Clinical Divisions is essential. We are looking for an inclusive leader who values development across the team and supporting health & well being.

Main duties of the job

Create an environment where the patient is central to all decision making and the delivery of high quality compassionate care is every body's prime objective.

Have continuous 24-hour responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the clinical, managerial and educational requirements of the department.

Work across 5 days a week in a clinical and supervisory role.

Set & monitor professional standards and the delivery of all aspects of care ensuring trust policies & procedures are adhered to.

Creating a dynamic learning environment for all staff, overseeing the provision of education, research and practice development within the ward.

Be responsible for the management of the pay and non-pay budget for the ward, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources. Identify improvements and efficiencies.

Ensuring your own personal compliance and that of your teams to the Trust's visions, values, and strategic goals.
