An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse post on Rehabilitation 2 at Mexborough Montagu Hospital.
The Sister/Charge Nurse will play an essential role assisting Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in leading the nursing teams throughout the 24-hour period. They will act at all times to encourage an environment of empowerment through coaching, teaching and facilitating. They will act as a role model, promoting evidence-based practice, developing the nursing team and ensuring effective management of the unit in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Main duties of the job
Rehab 2 is currently a 28 bedded rehabilitation ward, 18 beds allocated to caring for patients who have had a stroke and are requiring rehabilitation to support their recovery. The other 10 patients allocated for general rehabilitation patients from various specialties, including medicine, surgery and orthopaedics.
Rehab 2 is an integral part of the high performing DBTH stroke pathway. The successful applicant should have a passion for rehabilitation and enjoy working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.
The Fred and Ann Green rehabilitation centre at Mexborough Montagu hospital is a purpose built unit with excellent facilities for the delivery of high quality rehabilitation.
This is a senior nursing role within the organisation and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high quality patient care within the Division whilst upholding the Trust's 'We Care' values.
The post holder will promote clinical excellence through his/her practice in the speciality and the wider organisation and will work collaboratively in the multidisciplinary team to plan treatment and care of individual patients.
