This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our existing team to provide efficient admin and clerical support to our Critical Care Departments.
We have a vacancy for a part time position at 22.5hrs per week. Nominal working pattern is on a flexible 3 weekly rota, to include some evenings and weekends up to 7.00pm. In addition the post holder may be expected to cover additional hours to cover periods of annual leave where necessary.
You must have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work both alone and as part of a team. This posts demands a candidate who pays attention to detail, is well organised and flexible.
A good standard of education is essential with minimum of 3 GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) to include both Maths and English. You must be IT Literate.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide an effective and well organised ward clerk administration/reception service to the Department of Critical Care within our Clinical Specialities Services Division.
The post holder will build and maintain close working relationships with multidisciplinary teams, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
The post holder will work flexibility and as part of a team to provide wrap-around administration resource to the ward, working to a rolling rota to cover some evenings and weekends.
- To greet all patients/visitors to wards & departments and allow access via any electronic entry system.
- To ensure that all potential overseas visitors are identified and registered on CAMIS.
- Answering the ward / reception telephone promptly, taking messages and re-directing calls as necessary.
- Data entry in respect of all attendances outside clinic/telephone consultations.
- Using the CaMIS Tracker system, locating, requesting and collection of patients case notes for planned and unplanned admissions.
- Maintaining an up-to-date location status for the patients case notes, using the tracker system, throughout the patients stay.
- Open and distribute ward / department mail and re-direct post where necessary.
- Collecting patient notes from case note release / hospital shuttle buses.
- Use of clinical IT systems to input and extract patient and nursing information.
- General photocopying and copying of case notes, when requested, for the transfer of patients to other hospitals.
- Attend all mandatory training in accordance with Trust policy.
- Participate in the Trusts Annual Performance Development Appraisal and Review.
- Awareness of the Trusts policies, procedures and disciplinary rules
- Undertaking any other duties which may be allocated specifically from time to time by the Ward / Admin Manager / Team Leader
