An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position as a practice development midwife at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust within the expanding Midwifery Pastoral team
This is a fixed term contract for 6 months and is primarily to support a record number of early career midwives joining us in October.
The primary function of the practice development midwife is to actively engage in the development, implementation and evaluation of midwifery practice.
You will work clinically with midwives in all clinical areas to ensure that these midwives are assessed in the breadth of clinical competencies required to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate midwifery practice.
You will have the responsibility to ensure that newly qualified, existing and internationally educated, midwives are supported and can successfully demonstrate the necessary clinical competencies whilst assuring that their practice is evidence based and safe.

Main duties of the job
To act as the practice development midwife within the maternity department, supporting staff in practice to ensure that newly qualified, existing and internationally educated midwives, can successfully demonstrate the necessary clinical competencies so that their practice is evidence based and safe.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, be a caring and compassionate individual focused on providing excellent quality patient care, working within the values held by the Trust.
